The design depicted a Ukrainian soldier defiantly facing a Russian warship — a reference to the now-famous response of the defenders of Snake Island when ordered to surrender.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen history added an extraordinary second chapter.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn April 13, the Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship Moskva, the ship associated with the Snake Island confrontation and depicted in the stamp artwork, was struck by Ukrainian forces.
