Story Behind the Set
For 80 years, Antonov has represented Ukrainian ingenuity and ambition in the skies. The company developed more than 100 aircraft types and modifications, with over 22,000 Antonov aircraft produced. Its aircraft have set more than 500 world records.
Among Antonov’s most famous creations are the enormous An-124 Ruslan and the unique An-225 Mriya. Mriya — Ukrainian for Dream — became known throughout the world and remains one of the most powerful symbols of Ukraine’s aviation achievements.
Designed by Ukrainian artist Andriy Yermolenko, this anniversary issue celebrates not only famous aircraft but the people, ideas and engineering tradition behind them. It preserves a remarkable chapter of Ukrainian technological history in a collectible philatelic set.
