• Seizure of Belbek Airport. Sevastopol, 2014 – Polish photographer Kuba Kaminski captured the seizure of Belbek Airport during Russia’s occupation of Crimea. The photograph later won first place in the Grand Press Photo 2014 competition.
• Love Can’t Be Stopped! Kharkiv, 2022 – a photograph of volunteer medics celebrating their wedding amid the ruins of a building damaged by Russian missiles in Kharkiv.
• Light Will Win! Azovstal. Mariupol, 2022 – the legendary self-portrait of Ukrainian defender Dmytro Kozatski, call sign “Orest,” photographed in a ray of sunlight during the defense of Azovstal in Mariupol.
• Hands of an Infantryman. Bakhmut, 2023 – a striking photograph of a soldier of Ukraine’s 28th Brigade taken close to enemy positions on the outskirts of Bakhmut.

Together, they tell four very different stories: the beginning of Russia’s occupation of Crimea, love surviving destruction in Kharkiv, the heroic defense of Azovstal, and the reality of Ukrainian soldiers fighting near Bakhmut.

Ukrposhta released the block on February 23, 2024, marking ten years since Russia began its war against Ukraine and two years since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
