Issued on International Children’s Day in 2023, this moving Ukrainian postage stamp release features artwork created by children whose lives have been profoundly affected by the war.

In April 2023, Ukrposhta invited Ukrainian children to imagine and draw the Ukraine they hope to see in the future. More than 300 artworks were submitted to the nationwide competition, and hundreds of thousands of people participated in selecting the winning design.

The winner was “The Most Cherished Dream” by 14-year-old Oleksandra Fedorchuk from the Kyiv region. Ukrposhta also incorporated other shortlisted children’s drawings into this remarkable postal issue.

The result is a collectible filled not with images of destruction, but with the things Ukrainian children dream about: peace, family, home, freedom and a happy future for Ukraine.
