The Fighters of Evil stamp sheet contains 4 collectible Ukrainian stamps featuring a powerful and humorous wartime image: an F-16-shaped grater shredding the Moscow Kremlin — a symbolic depiction of Ukraine overcoming the forces attacking the country.
Created by Ukrainian illustrator Maksym Palenko, the design combines Ukrainian wartime humor, resistance and the hope that modern fighter aircraft would help Ukraine better protect its skies.
The Meaning Behind the F-16 Stamp
International support has played an important role in Ukraine’s defense. When Ukrposhta introduced the “Fighters of Evil” issue in August 2023, Ukraine was preparing for the future arrival of F-16 fighter jets from its international partners.
The aircraft became a powerful symbol of Ukraine’s efforts to modernize its Air Force and strengthen its ability to defend Ukrainian territory.
The stamp’s denomination carries its own symbolism: F + 16.00. The “F” represents the postal tariff, while the additional 16 UAH charitable surcharge from the original issue supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
