This authentic Patron Dog Ukrainian stamp set, issued by Ukrposhta in 2022, celebrates the beloved Jack Russell Terrier who serves with Ukraine’s State Emergency Service and became a symbol of bravery, loyalty, and hope.
The “Dog Patron” postage stamp issue features eight different illustrations showing Patron at work and in scenes inspired by his role as Ukraine’s best-known demining dog. It was also historically significant as Ukraine’s first charity postage stamp issue. The charitable surcharge raised through the original issue helped fund a mechanized mine-clearance vehicle and support animal shelters in Ukraine.

About Patron
Patron is a Jack Russell Terrier who became the mascot of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. During the war, he served alongside a pyrotechnics team in the Chernihiv region and became internationally known for his work, appearing at public events and meeting world leaders while helping bring attention to the enormous challenge of mine clearance in Ukraine.
